Facebook ads are now more resistant to ad blockers

Continuing its efforts to serve as a sanctuary for news outlets, battered by blogs and ad blockers, Facebook has found a way to ensure more users actually see the ads in the stories they love to like and share. And while the company has found a way to beat ad-blockers, it’s promising you more control over the content advertisers pay for you to see.
It’s a technical change. Facebook’s engineers are retooling the way Facebook renders ads to make it difficult for ad-blocking tools to discern between ads and other content you see on the social networking site. Ad-blockers scan the HTML code of content in search of lines that indicate whether media is organic or sponsored content. So Facebook’s solution entails rendering those lines so that ad-blockers can’t tell the difference between paid post and organic content.

Worse than blocking ads and starving publications of their primary streams of revenue, some ad-blocking service will take money in exchange for letting specific ads slip through the net and onto your screen. And that siphons “the funding needed to support the journalism and other free services” like Facebook itself. So instead of being extorted to have its ads shown, Facebook is firing back with this latest move. But instead of just forcing you so see more ads, it wants to address the reason it believes you hate sponsored content so much — it’s often irrelevant.
Along with its retooling of the way the site renders ads, Facebook is expanding its Ads menu preferences to ensure that you can at least endure the marketing content that’s thrown at you on your way to get to the good stuff. Without getting into how this will help Facebook build an even better profile of who you are and what you like, these changes continue the company’s campaign of ensuring journalism doesn’t drown in the digital age.
What do you think of these changes? Do you find this strategy a major turn off that will keep you from using Facebook, or are ads just the price web users should pay for otherwise free content? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

New CyanogenMod 12.1 snapshot finally released

It has been a while since CyanogenMod 12.1 has received a snapshot, right? Though these tend to be released about once a month, the CyanogenMod team took around 2 months to release the roll out the latest one, but it is finally out today.
First, let’s start by clearing out an important point. What is a snapshot? No, it is not a picture. CyanogenMod snapshots are pretty much a step between a stable version and a nightly. Its features have gone through some testing and should be mostly good to go, but there are still some chances of bugs showing up.
As it goes with these releases, the new CyanogenMod 12.1 snapshot is only available for a few devices right now. Motorola ones, to be more specific. These include the 2013 Moto X, theDroid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Moto Maxx. More devices should be included soon enough, though.

The LG V10 has a weird look with two front-facing cameras embedded in the left corner underneath the display itself. The secondary “always on” screen will show the notifications when the main screen is off, and it works similarly like the Edge screen seen in the Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Note Edge devices. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Showcased in a Video Posted Online

Udpate, August 31, 2015, 17:20 : Few days before IFA 2015 there is a new leak of Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and this time it is in the form of a video. The device was displayed in full, and you can see the whole design and also the camera specifications. As far as the design is concerned there is not much changed, and it looks similar to earlier devices.
Now the company is set to launch its latest flagship in three variants- Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium and the devices will be unveiled at IFA 2015 on September 2 in Berlin. As per the earlier leaked image, Xperia Z5 will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display while the Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a 4.6-inch HD (1280×720) display and Z5 Premium comes with a 5.5-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) display respectively. Once unveiled Z5 Premium will be the first device to use a 4K UHD screen offering 801 PPI as pixel density.

As earlier rumored, all the three devices will come with a fingerprint scanner that will come placed on the power button and will sport a 23MP rear camera with f/1.8 and super-fast autofocus.
Earlier, August 4, 2015, 11:05 :This year somehow Sony missed out the action from the fight for the best flagship device. Though the company launched the Xperia Z4, which is the successor for last year’s flagship Xperia Z3, it received a lot of backlashes as there are no serious upgrades from its predecessor. All this made Sony not to launch the Xperia Z4 outside of its home country; it is released as Xperia Z3+ in the international markets.

Sony Xperia Z5 made for bond poster

With all this happenings, Sony hinted about the launch of another flagship device before the end of this year. Recently released “Made for Bond” posters also make us feel the launch of a new flagship is near since the movie will be released in the month of November.
image: http://cdn.androidadvices.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Sony-Xperia-Z5-made-for-bond-poster.jpeg
Today we got the fresh leak of not only Xperia Z5 but also its Compact variant Xperia Z5 Compact. In the leaked images, both the upcoming devices are compared with an iPhone 6. Unfortunately, there are no more details about the device except the design aspects.

From the image, we can see the round shaped power button from the previous versions will be replaced by an elaborate oval shaped button. On the right side, we can also see the volume rocker and camera shutter buttons placed along with the power button.
Sony is also debuting the fingerprint sensor in its flagship lineup, but there is no clear indication about the placement of it. From the displayed screen of the Z5 Compact, we guess the fingerprint sensor will be placed on the power button which will be on right side.
We will update with more details of both Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact once we have any information from the confirmed source
